Candle Care Instructions for Wooden Wick Candles

To get the best experience and longevity from your wooden wick candle, follow these simple care tips:

1. **Trim the Wick**: Before each burn, trim the wooden wick to about 1/8 inch (3-4 mm). This prevents the flame from getting too high and ensures a clean, even burn. Gently break off the charred wood or use a wick trimmer.

2. **First Burn Matters**: Allow the candle to burn long enough on the first use for the melted wax to reach the edges of the container (usually 2-3 hours). This helps prevent tunneling and creates an even burn throughout the candle's life.

3. **Keep the Flame in Check**: If the flame becomes too high or flickers excessively, extinguish the candle, trim the wick, and relight it. This helps avoid sooting and keeps your candle burning smoothly.

4. **Burn in 2-4 Hour Increments**: For optimal performance, burn your candle for 2-4 hours at a time. Burning for too long can cause the wick to smoke or the container to overheat.

5. **Safety First**: Always burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, flammable objects, pets, and children. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

6. **Reuse or Recycle**: Once the candle has burned down to 1/2 inch of wax, discontinue use to avoid overheating the container. Repurpose the jar or recycle it according to your local guidelines.

By following these tips, you’ll enjoy the full ambiance and clean burn of your wooden wick candle!
